Jared began his musical journey at the age of seven when he saw “Star Wars” in the movie theatre. “Even though I was seven years away from picking up a guitar, I was subconsciously mesmerized by John Williams score. Those themes were with me wherever I went as a young kid.” Hearing Van Halen’s “Diver Down” record in eighth grade prompted him to pick up the guitar, and he’s never looked back. (It should be noted that at the same time, Jared’s mother was encouraging him to try to play the guitar as well. Thanks, Mom.)
At this point, Jared would describe himself as a musical journeyman. He attended Duquesne University and majored in guitar performance with an emphasis in composition. By the time he had graduated college Jared had already played close to 2,000 shows.
After college, Jared worked as a ghostwriter for Emmy award winning composer, Joseph LoDuca. In the four years Jared was with LoDuca, he wrote and played on numerous television shows, films, and close to 1,000 television commercials. In the spring of 1997, Jared moved to Nashville to start a music house with his brother, Adam. His five years in Nashville led to Jared scoring close to 20 films as well playing and arranging many records done in the Nashville music scene. Jared relocated to Chicago in the spring of 2002 (to pursue his wife – then girlfriend) and has continued to work as a composer, producer, arranger, and guitarist. Jared is passionate about his spiritual life, wife, family, baseball, and music (in that order!).
